Plasma Applications
It is well-known that the most critical components of plasma thermal spray guns, such as F4, F1, 9MB, 7MB, 3M7, SG-100, etc., are the nozzle and electrode. These two products are also consumables and one of the most important materials in plasma thermal spraying.
Our company is a professional manufacturer of plasma spray electrodes and nozzles (also known as plasma cathodes and anodes, tungsten-copper cathodes, and tungsten-copper anodes).
Advantages of Plasma Spray Nozzles and Electrodes Produced by Our Company
Our company has been engaged in the production of pure tungsten and tungsten alloy materials for many years, with a deep understanding of their structure and properties. For the tungsten electrodes used in plasma spraying, based on our thorough understanding of applications, we have made more improvements and treatments to the material structure to meet the requirements of plasma spraying for material quality. By densifying the tungsten electrodes, we achieve a finer, more uniform grain structure. The modified tungsten alloy has relatively higher hardness and density, faster arc initiation, and excellent resistance to arc erosion with a longer service life.
Our company’s plasma spray electrodes and nozzles use unique back-casting technology to achieve seamless bonding between tungsten and copper, with a bond strength as high as 127MPa, while traditional bonding strength is less than 100MPa. Compared to traditional brazing, the bonded components made by back-casting have higher strength between tungsten and copper, larger contact area, more uniform resistance, and stronger heat dissipation capability, resulting in higher operational stability and longer service life for nozzles and electrodes.
We produce tungsten electrodes of different materials (with excellent arc initiation performance and wear resistance). Depending on the customer’s usage conditions, we can provide more suitable materials for customers to choose from.
| Material | Impurity Content (%) | Work Function (eV) |
|---|---|---|
| Lanthanum Tungsten | <0.2 | 2.8-3.2 |
| Cerium Tungsten | <0.2 | 2.7-2.8 |
| Thorium Tungsten | <0.2 | 2.0-3.9 |
Based on our research and analysis of plasma spray guns, the electrodes and nozzles produced by our company can perfectly match the original spray guns. During replacement use, there is no need for additional adjustments to the spraying parameters. We have a complete product line, and the plasma spray electrodes and nozzles we produce are widely applicable to F4, 9M, SG-100 spray guns from companies such as Metco, GTV, FST, AMT AG, and Praxair.
We have extensive experience in producing various cathodes and anodes. We can customize processing based on customer samples or drawings and also provide semi-finished products with seamless tungsten-copper bonding.
